Questions & Answers
What do I need for playback the movies?
You need the x264 codec which we use for our movies. This codec makes it possible to encode movie files to a really small filesize with great quality. You can download the codec at http://www.speedruns.net/ffdshow.exe

How do I extract the downloaded movies?
The movies are compressed with 7Zip. You can get this programm at 7-zip.org . It is a open source program. So it is absolutely free. Do not try to extract the files with Winrar because this will most probably not work.

Do I need to be a skilled player?
Not at all. Patience is much more important than skill is. You play at slowspeed as you can see in this tutorial while recording because else it is hardly possible to fulfill these perfect moves. Some moves have used hundreds of rerecord counts. So you see that you just need to be patient to retry some moves until you get them perfectly done.

How can I make such videos?
You need an emulator with rerecording function. On this way you can play a game and when making a mistake you just reload a savestate and the emulator rerecords the savestates. This means in the result you do not see the reloading anymore and it looks perfectly played. There is a tutorial written by Dark Fulgore.

Can I get money for my submission?
Definitely yes. We will start competitions very soon for single games. We will announce these on the main page so you can see the terms as well as the prices for the winners.

Where can I download the movies?
For downloading just visit the speedruns section. You just have to register for downloading. For watching the movies online it is not necessary to register at all.
